Tournesol is still tilling the soil dans un jardin; slowly planting a seed here and there, hoping to see poetry blossom...a labour of love.
This blog will host short form poetry such as Haiku, Tanka, Tilus, Lanturne, Shadorma, Senryû...
I have chosen a song that I have loved for years. My children were teens when it came out and I remember purchased the Tape (yes it is that old). I was shocked when I heard the other songs so hard and loud compared to this one song. So I gave the tape to my son and my daughter made a tape of mixes with this song on "each" side, for my long drive to and from Toronto.
The guitar and the music speak to me "more than words".
I've included the lyrics at the end.
The goal is to write a four stanza renga inspired on the song of our choice
Extreme - More Than Words
that look in blue liquid eyes so much promise
our union spontaneous communion of souls
engaged, in silence touching, transcending authentic love
exhaling you with each pore you inhale, more than words
Saying I love you Is not the words I want to hear from you It's not that I want you Not to say, but if you only knew How easy it would be to show me how you feel More than words is all you have to do to make it real Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me 'Cause I'd already know What would you do if my heart was torn in two More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real What would you say if I took those words away Then you couldn't make things new Just by saying I love you
More than words
Now that I've tried to talk to you and make you understand All you have to do is close your eyes And just reach out your hands and touch me Hold me close don't ever let me go More than words is all I ever needed you to show Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me 'Cause I'd already know
What would you do if my heart was torn in two More than words to show you feel That your love for me is real What would you say if I took those words away Then you couldn't make things new Just by saying I love you
