blood moon (haiku)

I wrote this in the wee hours waiting for the skies to clear but no, Mother Nature was in one of her moods not allowing me to peek at the man on that huge Red Blood Moon.   And this haiku was written in hopes to see this...

a single sunbeam (Tan Renga challenge)

I love this tan renga challenge. Mark's haiku is beautiful. It can be translated in many interpretations, one of autumn leaves a natural street art...graffiti.

© Clr '14

When I see the sun setting on the rooftop at work, I see the sun took centre stage for a long time, is now graciously bowing and allow twilight to take over and the finale act...city nightlife. I can see the lights looking like sparking stars just below the burnt orange well where the sun has dipped for the night.

I have decided to add my piece both in English and French. Our office building as well as many on our street are tagged with gangs' calligraphy as well as airbrushed art on other buildings.

How can one do justice to these haiku?  To feel them  to hear them  to see them and to read them...are a privilege. It's an experience and then I read a few offerings from CP poets. Again, I'm swept off my feet and struggle wondering how I can contribute and so I put myself in a moment in time, by the lake.

yearning (haiga)

I started writing free verse last year for fun and discovered haiku later, not really understanding it but liked using it to describe photos I had taken and eventually learned that haiku could draw a picture for me. I`ve always wanted to draw and learn to paint ...haiku seems to be my learning just how to do that.  Fortunately with CP., I can learn at my pace by writing each day and reading beautiful haiku other gifted poets write.   It`s become my daily meditation...

autumn melody (haibun)

I felt energized walking to the bus today with the warm sun.  Imagine walking September 25th in a sleeveless shirt and jeans.  Yes, indeed, it was so warm, I had to put my hair up in a bun, the sun was so hot on my neck.  I had checked the forecast before leaving and felt encouraged to see that mid 20C was expected until Sunday. Today was my last day of my work week since I have Friday and Saturday off.  So off I marched to the bus in good spirits.

summer heat
yet autumn wind
blew fallen leaves

Ah but when I passed a row of trees, my feet touched a precious season’s gift.  I slowed my pace to hear the sound that pleased my ears.  Within a few seconds, I was a ten year old walking to school  hearing the crunch under my feet observing the lawns covered with reds, amber and shades of gold and yellow.  Fast-forwarding in my reverie I was jumping in a large pile of leaves, making my crunch, autumn bed...last  play before the ground will freeze...until I will lay on a white blanket making snow angels...but not quite yet...
