Pine tree (haiku)

dead leaves despair,
life of an evergreen -
pine tree

pine tree
breathes hope and joy
white Christmas

I'm afraid I only had time to see the title of this prompt and thought about a haiku travelling from work tonight. When I read the prompt, I realized I was way off since I did not use the photo as my inspiration.

  1. Don't feel bad --- I mistakenly didn't use the prompt photo either! o.O
BUT ... I like the haiku series anyway. Evergreens are - indeed - a symbol of hope in winter.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Jen. I feel so much better. I was composing it on my walk home and wanted to hurry before I forgot the words...then I thought I saw the linkeys removed form that Time Glass prompt and posted it anyway and then I saw the linkey and read the post...shoot! wrong, I thought to myself....oh well.

    1. Somehow I saw pine trees among bare branches and lots of snow in my mind's eye but thanks, Bjorn :)

  3. Forget the photo! Your words work well--and that's all that matters.

  4. No problem Cheryl Lynn ... the photo was also meant for inspiration, but you composed a wonderful haiku on the prompt.

  5. You did great --- and to think you just read the title ... cool. I don't thing the post suffered from not having the photo .. and to tell the truth, I very often catch the prompt at the last second! Brava!
